This is a concept or thought that I have really experienced over the past two years. With my family transitions from place to place for my husband’s job and with me really wanting to hold on to my own identity in an environment where my husband is the person who is really connected with others on a constant basis and working daily. I stayed at home and cared for our girls, cooked our meals and lamented for not being able to do what I love. I had to go through the process of transition (denial, anger, frustration, resistance, acknowledgement, acceptance, exploration, hope, enthusiastic energy, commitment and a new start) to come to the place of knowing that I can still be mom and take care of our meals and home and be me. Be the artist-actor and writer that I am. I went through a process of rediscovery and true transformation. I became a more present mom, wife and actor by going through my process...my transition phases. I had to let go of my idea of what my life would be or should be like and live in my everyday moments. With the changes along my journey, I was able to perform at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. and perform my one woman show Daring to Think, Move and Speak at the University of Sonora in Mexico. Furthermore, I was very pleasantly blessed to be able to sing the National Anthem for a U.S. Consulate event in Mexico! Today, I am very excited and present with my girls. I am living a life of joy and excitement while still being able to act and perform. This past summer, I had a day role in the upcoming film, Chavez directed by Diego Luna. I got here by accepting, letting go and deciding to give in to the natural flow of my life. I already understood my purpose and talents and how they could serve others, what I needed to do was to live in the present moment (natural flow of my life) and not in the past. In giving in to the natural flow of your life and really understanding your purpose and talents and how they can fulfill you and serve others, you will be able to become more of who you are. You then need to take action on what gives you the most joy. I always suggest creating an action plan to help you be able to live the life you want to live. I, for instance, had to call to set up an appointment and go to the audition at Arena Stage. I had to call and book an agent on the west coast for acting. I also had to tell the people at the University about my one woman show and go to meet with them about how this show would be performed at their University. I took action and got results...results that helped me become more of who I am. Today is your day, your next blessed moment to really get to know you and develop your goals and talents. I wish you so much patience and love with yourself. Today is your day to begin living a life that honors your talents and serves others in a very integrated, experiential and joyful way. Today is your day to become more of who you are!
